Yes, you read it right. It has been a week of hell for me and Richie! He came to me this evening and asked me to put her up for sale. His mother is bombarding him relentlessly every day for a week now. I am at the point that I am on the edge of going to jail. It's just not worth it. Besides, they don't let you ride in prison.

The bike has less than 2100 miles on it and is like new. It has the upgraded SV650 Rear Shock installed and it will come with the original as well, less the bushing that was used in the swap. I am asking for $2000.00 Firm to cover the cost of my purchase and the new shock. I'm not looking to negotiate the price. It is more than fair for a "like new" bike. So if your looking for a beginners bike for someone or know someone who's looking, please PM me. I have a clean NYS Title in hand and the bike is garage kept and has never been down or in the rain. Check out the pics.

The bike needs nothing. Just turn the key and go!

Yeah, if you read my thread for "Richies First Bike Night" all is explained there. I'm just tired right now of all the nonsense my ex-wife is giving to Richie. She actually was on the parkway as we were riding up to bike night last Wednesday. When she realized that it was her son riding the bike behind me she flipped out. We hadn't told her about it since I got it three months ago. It was pretty funny that day but now is getting out of control. She is acting so foolishly about the whole deal but enough said. My blood pressure and all. I already texted her to let her know that she may have won the battle but not the war. In two short years when he turns 18, guess what his birthday present will be! Thats right!!!!

Billy I am sorry to see this unfold this way. 18th Birthday we should all show up on bikes as the gift is unvailed. Could you imagine the photo opp that would be? Let her know all of his friends waited for the day.:stirpot:

Thanks Dave. No one is more sorry than me! I know it was hard for him to come to me this evening and tell me to sell it, but if you knew my ex-wife you would understand. She is like an annoying Chihuahua who won't shut up. I have to hand it to him as he endured a solid week of it before giving in. At this point I'm just saving him the grief. If it were up to me he'd still be riding it. She seems to always forget that Richie has been with me since the day we split. Now all of the sudden she knows better than me as to whats best for him. I already made it perfectly clear to her this evening that he will be riding his new bike on his 18th birthday like it or not. I'll see you at the party!!!!

I am shocked and saddened by this turn of events. I don't suppose it could just lay low in the garage for a while? Cancel the plate and let the ex see that?

Unfortunately as long as it's in the garage he will never hear the end of it. The best part of this whole thing is that I met my wife in her country when she was 16. What had drawn me to her was the fact that she pulled up to the house the day I met her, alone, on a DT175 Yamaha! If you've ever been to the Dominican Republic you'd see that it's the most dangerous place to ride a bike or drive a car! I guess she forgot where she came from. Also, she forgets that Richie was riding since he was 6 years old. His first bike was a Honda XR50 which he rode all over the place. So he was fine at 6 years old and no experience but not okay at 16 and me teaching him! I have been riding in NY for 33 years on two wheels with no get offs and no accidents. I guess that doesn't count for anything. I think it's more to spite me than anything. A war of wills you might say. Me, I could take the flak no problem but Richie is too good a kid to have to go through this. Thanks for the sincere thoughts!

Anyone have any idea how much it would cost to ship something like this cross country?

From NY to TX I would imagine in the $400-600 range to ship. In 2008 I shipped a bike from WI to NJ and it was like $550. They delivered it to my door strapped to a pallet on a truck with a lift gate on it so it was painless.

Not that I don't want Billy to sell the bike, but once you factor that into the equation you're probably better off finding a local one.

Billy, to be honest, it doesn't sound like she has any legal ground.

Keep the bike, keep him riding, and if she wants to get crazy, File a Ex-Martial Harrassment Restraining Order.

Game, set, match.

Not even close after at least 2 hotel stays and airfare. :) 1 way, Houston to NY is about $400 with stops and $700 direct.

Definitely not economical for sure. I already had one call only 30 minutes after posting it on Craigslist. Supposedly coming to see it tomorrow. I never hold my breath anymore. I've been through this before. I'll wait and see. In the meantime, the first person with cash gets it.

Billy I'm really sorry to hear about this turn of events, but I know where you're coming from. As much as you want Richie to ride there is no need to subject him to this harassment by his mother. Once he's 18 it will be a different story...

At this point in the game, it's really my son's decision. I am all for keeping it and having him ride but if you knew his mother, you'd understand. Me, I value my peaceful existence and that has been disturbed for the last 7 days. I've really had enough. Once he's 18, he'll be an adult and she will have no say in what he can do or not do. I'm cordially inviting everyone here to the big bike inveiling ceremony on March 5th, 2012! Chips and dip for everyone followed by a group ride past her house where we'll all rev our engines and pull wheelies!!!!

It will probably be either an FZ6 or YZF600. Whichever way he wants to go. Either bike is sporty enough for him. I'll find a big parking lot where he can practice with the FZ1 and not get himself in trouble. He has good throttle control so he should be fine.
