Hey guys, need some help here. Everytime i'm in first gear and let off the gas, i get a strange rattling/clacking noise. Does anyone know what it could be? it's only in first gear upon deceleration. maybe some clutch adjustment?

bike is an '07 and only has 3k miles.

It could be your chain has a bit too much slack. It should be checked every 1,000 miles or so of riding so with 3,000 I'd say to check it out.

it's definitely not the chain...that's been double checked. it seems to be coming from the front of the bike. And it only happens in that first gear decel when the load is harder on the motor...

Could it be the front pads? Try gently applying front to take up the slack when you hear the noise. Have noticed mine click a bit under the right circumstances.

Hey rangerdave from what I've seen and heard thats a pretty easy job to do at home if you are into DIY. Its was one of the first things a tech warned a buddy about when they bought a 919.

Yes I read up on it, I have the new manual adjuster on order as we speak. The bike is for sale so the sooner i get this part changed the better...

Do these tensioners ever cause problems on the FZ1?
