cruising in 1st !.. that can't be good for the engine..
although I enjoy cruising in 2nd gear (less gear changing, sweet engine note, better braking), the temperature of the engine is really high (96 degrees and jumps to 104 at traffic stops). which brings me to a question for the veteran...
The 09 ninja 250r has an excellent clutch, it may just be because its a 250 and I haven't had the chance to ride a zx10r or a z1000 but my guess is they will have excellent clutches also. But clutch aside the FZ1 is a great motorcycle with the pro's significantly outweighing the con's.
I can only compare bikes that i've owned -_- lol. I take it that clutch shifting on a 4 cyl litre bike is considerably slower than a 250 or that maybe kawasaki bikes have better clutches? :confused0024:
Kawasaki Ninja 250R Clutch: smooth, seamless & instant engagement, just dump the clutch lever and the power is already connected to the wheel.
FZ1: vague feel when connecting the power to the engine, slow engagement time, letting out the clutch when the revs are under 2500rpm results in a...
"Lo" is the temperature reading that shows up as soon as you start the bike up (if you haven't ridden it before hand). This reading disappears after the engine has warmed up past 39 degrees celcius. My question is will I damage the engine riding it **conservatively; ie. not revving it to 12g...
Hi all, I'm a new FZ1 rider with 550km's on the odometer, I would like to know if riding the FZ1 with a cold engine *Lo on the temp meter* cause damage to its engine (basically ride straight after the dashboard does its self check). Currently I wait for the engine temperature to read 50 degrees...
has anyone tried this?, how would you know if the clutch was slipping? im curious about this because i too have a problem shifting from 1st to 2nd also.
Hi all, I have an 07 FZ-1S with 180 miles on it, My area has a lot of traffic stops; as a result my temperature is usually reading between 98 degrees to 106 degrees and always stays between that, is this an acceptable temperature operating range or is the bike overheating?
