I had the carbs off the bike twice last week, cleaned all the jets and passages as best as I could. I guess it's possible one of the bypass holes under the butterflies is clogged. But this behavior has me thinking maybe a needle holder popped out of the slide?
When I had a clogged pilot jet on...
I recently picked up a 04 FZ1 that's been sitting a long time. Previous owner started to fix it by installing new spark plugs and a new generic amazon/ebay fuel pump, but abandoned the project when he realized the carbs needed to be pulled.
Carbs were clogged (pilot jets blocked completely!) so...
I just want a top case. A friend has a soft expandable one on his R7 that works great, though they're not machine specific.
Ebay has a few racks that support panniers but they're $400+.
Where did you get the rack?
I want a top box but can't find any source for a rear rack to mount it on. Aftermarket parts have dried up for these 20+ year old machines.
I might just go with one of the soft expandable cases that straps under the seat or yo the factory grab rails.
Not a fan of eBay/Amazon tires, had a defective car tire once and I was SOL with a warranty claim because it wasn't from an authorized retailer...
But dang it you're a genius. I didn't even think to check eBay but for the price I might jump on these. I'm VERY pleased with the KM-1 rear on my...
The Kenda KM-1s and ContiMotions are sold out everywhere.
I found a retailer selling a set of Michelin Pilot Power 2CT for $310 and there's another $60 rebate going on.. I might do that but I'm not sure how long they'll last with my riding conditions of mostly city commuting.
Love the photos of all the bikes. Mine isn't nearly as clean, there's some minor surface corrosion on some of the pieces such as the top of the upper triple clamp, handlebars, levers, and the rider and passenger footpeg brackets. Eventually I'll get those all cleaned and polished, even thinking...
Forums are amazing for cars and motorcycles, capturing many common issues and fixes. They're a great resource, until one of them disappears...
Fortunately there's the Wayback Machine which captures most of that lost info... in fact I just used it to find jetting info from fz1oa.
I went through two sets of these on my 2001 FZ1 and they were excellent tires for an excellent price. When the second rear wore out I replaced it with a Bridgestone Battlax S20 EVO just for fun, then when that wore out in 2021 I wanted to get another ContiMotion but they were all out of stock...
I'm not new to the FZ club. I've owned a silver one since 2012, has at least 50K miles on it now but there was a two year gap between the last reported mileage and when I bought it (gauges/fairing missing). Aside from a dent in the tank it looks good for its age, and never fails to start. I've...
I don't know why but when I spotted a blue 2004 FZ1 with 3000 miles for a great price, I had to buy it. It's been sitting for a long time and wasn't running well, though it did start and idle with the choke on. Previous owner started digging into it to get it running, replacing spark plugs, oil...
