I did a search but still had a quick question. On the digital fuel gauge, the last bar starts to blink which I figure means it is tapping the reserve. However, when I go to fill up, usually a couple miles afterwards, it only takes around 3.5 gallons to fill. I would think if I was hitting the reserve I would be taking more gas. When does the light start to blink? Also, are you suppose to "over-fill" it above the ledge that is in the tank? Thank you in advance.

When the light starts blinking, you just hit the beginning of your last gallon AKA Reserve.

The reason its taking only 3.5 to fill, is it only holds like 4.8. So if you are not running deep into your reserve, you still have about a gallon left.

Most people fill it until the gas touches the little holes on the metal plate that you put the filler nozzle through.

I do not personally go any higher than that when filling up.

Yep, like PapaGeno said, that is the start of the reserve. The final bar blinks and 'F-Trip' shows up on the cluster and starts counting miles. Keep track of your mpg and you'll get a good feel on how far to push the F-trip. I had mine up over 35 miles yesterday and she took 4.3 gallons to fill.

Ditto on filling up just to the metal plate.
