08 FZ1N Single side swingarm?

I have a 2008 FZ1N all converted to a euro and more and more recently i been thinking about throwing on a single sided swingarm, i havent seen much about them on the internet though. Just a few people doing them.

What i want to find out is some more information from someone who knows someone with this done or any insight period on how i can do this myself

Forum member "devilsyam", has done one on a Gen 1 and could be a good source to get the ball rolling.

Well short of having one custom made, which will be $$$, it would entail some machining. As you know Yamaha doesn't have any bike in it's current lineup with a single-sided swingarm. The Honda VFR seems to be a popular donor for these types of conversions.

Maybe these guys could help if you go the custom route:

Roaring Toyz Billet Single Sided Swingarm Wide Tire 240 300 330 360 Sportbike Conversion Kits for Hayabusa, GSXR, R1, BMW S1000RR, CBR, ZX14, ZX10 available in Chrome Plated Finish or Black Anodized with Performance Machine or R.C. Components Wheels

Here is a guy who converted his FZ1.

Single Sided Swing Arm (SSSA) conversion

In another post - he tries to sell it but I'm not sure if he ever did.
Anyway - my point is that he lists himself as The Swingarm King over at the ZRXOA.
This thread tells a general idea of what he did. I would contact him over at the ZRX forums. Bet you anything he has the same name.

******EDIT****

The guy has his name and phone number listed at the bottom of his profile page. I would give him a call and talk to him.

WOW! that looks excellent so far. I was thinking of chopping it and doing the same but didnt want it to look pieced together. It actually is coming out great though.

As for everyone else thanks for the responses. Its not an easy find at all but when its done its one of those things that makes the bike.

Looks fantastic!!! Now you just need to fab a custom pipe to have the exhaust exit on the other side. This way you can show off that sexy single-sided swinger ;)
