I have a story I thought would never happen to me. I found a first gen FZ-1 in great condition for $3500. Inwas going to pick it up on fri or sat until I just received an email from the seller telling me he slid the back on the way home. He sent pics that showed the exhaust scratched and broken right side fairing partly broken. He is pretty pissed of coarse.

Im right this post to get some advice. He still wants to sell the bike. For $1000 now.

I have uploaded the pics of the damage. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

You haven't bought it yet!!??? For a grand, I would have been there already. I see that he has frame sliders so there may only be cosmetic damage, all of which can be replaced. In my opinion, if the seller knew the deal was done and you were picking up the bike, shame on him for even riding it. Grab it if there is no engine or frame damage. It's still worth a grand. Just make sure you look at it in person before committing.

Its a oval canister buy new rivets drill out the old ones spin the can, now the scratches are on the wheel side. Buy a new upper. then spend 2000.00 on what ever you want.

you have a NICE looking 'BEE'.

The tank is painted, but the upper fairing and the tail -- are basically black body work with EXPENSIVE yellow stickers. If you don't have any Major damage, tabs on the upper fairing and sticker, you should be able to touch up and get looking purty again.

Same goes for the rear tail section.

Ditch the Vince and go for the MIVV GP Shorty -- make that 'BEE' sound like an angry swarm!

Congrats, and welcome to the madness!

Adam

Anyone live in MD? I am looking for a shop to state inspect the bike. Any recommendations? I live close to Baltimore Thanks

Sorry to hijack, but you gave me a thought. Anyone other then NJ NOT have to inspect bikes? We dropped it this past summer. Got a letter that said something to the effect of, "Your responsibility to maintain a safe bike. Good luck and god bless."
