Hi guys,
I'm selling my FZ1, to get something more suited for dirt roads.
I really love the bike, it has been amazing, but I only have room for one bike for me and one for my wife.
Here is my ad from the SF Bay Area craigslist.
2007 Yamaha FZ1 - Cobalt Blue - Tour/Commute/Sport - Well Set Up Bike!
I am selling to the forum for $5000 obo.
My email address is: [email protected]
Specs:
Vital Stats:
- 2007 Yamaha FZ1 (1000cc inline 4)
- 21,xxx miles (I still ride this bike to work everyday)
- I am the second owner
- Always garage kept!
- I have maintained the bike (and every other vehicle I have owned) myself and have recently completed the following:
-- TB Synch @ 12k miles
-- Flushed coolant and switched to Engine Ice @ 12k miles
-- New Iridium spark plugs @ 12k miles
-- Air filter cleaned and oil changed with Repsol full synthetic every 5k miles
While this bike was great stock, it really shines with some basic modifications. I have set this bike up for "sport/tour."
Here are the list of modifications...
Performance:
- Power Commander V with very smooth fuel map
- Modified smaller sub-throttle plates aka "flies" -- this really improved the mid-range and throttle response.
- Arrow slip-on titanium exhaust with modified DB killer (just the right amount of noise)
- BMC Air filter
- Modified airbox (opened up the snorkel but not removed, you get the flow without the loud resonance of a fully modified airbox)
- EXUP eliminator.. This electronic piece ensures you do not have a check engine light from the slip on (which removes the restrictive EXUP valve).
- Michelin Pilot Road 3 front tire and Pilot Road 2 rear tire (apx 60% tread remaining).
- Adjusted front fork position 4mm and run a 190/55 instead of the stock 190/50 tire. The result is much better turn-in than stock.
- Lightweight battery (but large cell, works even better than stock).
Luggage:
- Givi V35 side cases mounted on quick-release Givi PLX racks.
--The PLX racks can be removed in 2 mins, but I always just leave the racks.
-- The Givi cases can each fit a full-face helmet. I use these for touring, grocery shopping, storing my riding gear while parked, etc...
Aesthetics/comfort:
- Hard-mounted Powerlet 12V power outlet located on the passenger rearset bracket (use this to plug in heated gear, etc... I used it to keep my helmet communicator charged up while riding).
- Rizoma LED blinkers (custom wired to behave like the OEM blinkers -- running lights and full bright blinker)
- Rizoma fender eliminator (configured to fit perfectly with Givi side cases)
- Tinted sport touring windscreen (excellent condition)
- Custom modified seat by "Dirt Road" (well known on the FZ1 forums). This is the most comfortable seat I have used, and it looks great.
The picture currently posted is with the stock windscreen and is from before I added the Rizoma blinkers and fender kit.
I will be adding new pictures to the ad shortly.
Thanks!
Marco
