2024 MotoGP Discussion Thread *SPOILERS*

Eez good, guess I'm hyper attentive as it's part of my work.
I did realize that WWSB is a R7 sponsored series. Trying to make it sound more positive than it is since half the Yamahas finished in the bottom half. The women's series plays out like most with two or three riders being dominant.

On a separate subject I would love to see the Moto GP feed on TRU TV cover more of the highlights from Moto 2 and 3. They could easily cut back on 10 minutes of the other pre/post race commentary.

Looks like final round moves to Barcelona.

Spectacular racing in the Sepang Sprint. The start of the GP had first place change hands five times in the first lap before red flag.

Amazing Jack Miller wasn't injured in his accident. I can see why racers don't like that track.

I certainly hope Jorge can keep it on two wheels and bring home that number 1 plate.

After Ducati snubbed him for MM he deserves to rub it in their face all next year.

He'll be rubbing it in their faces following them next year.😀

I hope he wins it too. I think he will.

The problems at Aprilla are a very inconsistent Vinale's and Aleix with his eyes on retirement. Jorge is gonna give the Ducs a run on the Aprilla.

I have a feeling the Yamaha will be competitive next year as well. Fabio knew what he was doing by renewing his contract.

Would love to see other brands in contention. Marquez demonstrates often that you don't have to be in first place at the first turn to win, but it sure helps.

I'll be surprised if he does. He's good, but he's not Superman.

Fabio is really good, and can win on a somewhat lesser bike just like Marquez did for awhile.

I think he's still the best of the bunch, with the possible exceptions of Pecco, Martin and Quartararo. Those guys are all close.

He has been very consistent. The Aprilla Boys have shown that the bike has what it takes to be very fast - but their riders have always been inconsistent.

Jorge does not have to be superman to make the Aprilla go around the track as fast as the Ducs.

Are you seeing something else about the current championship leaders abilities that would make him not be consistent on the Aprilla?

No, just that the Ducati is clearly superior, especially the latest version. Hopefully Aprilia can develop their bike to be close enough at enough tracks for Martin to consistently run with Bagnaia and Marquez and whoever else goes fast next year.
Hoping the same for Yamaha too, because I think Quartararo is as good as anyone on the grid and the Ducati parade is already tiresome.

I really think what you are seeing is Maverick doing Maverick things. He was inconsistent on the Suzuki and Yamaha when those were some of the best bikes on the circuit. He has been inconsistent on the Aprilla.

Aleiz has his head out the door in retirement and is not gonna get himself hurt.

The Sat Aprilla team has lower tier riders who would not be competitive this year on a GP24.

With Yamaha - you can see it is the bike holding Fabio Back - not Fabio.

I disagree about the part about the Aprilia riders not being competitive on a GP24, especially with the data sharing, but this is certainly a matter of opinion. The good news is that we're going to get to see next year.
I just hope Marquez doesn't win all the races. He's never had a teammate who was consistently close and he has been the only rider on a GP23 who can keep the GP24s in sight this year, which has been a learning year with some terrible qualifying performances.

Processional race to decide MotoGP championship. Bagnaia did all he could (although I suppose he could have slowed it down to the point where Martin would have been surrounded by other riders) but Jorge Martin is a deserving 2024 champion.

Pecco certainly had a great weekend and did all he could but Jorge handled his emotions well and did what he needed to do. Actually more than he had to do but was safer by himself in 3rd as you note.

Agreed, a little bit of an anti-climax. Martin did deserve it this year. The announcers during the race made a decent pitch for Ducati dominance allowing more of the talented riders to be competitive, I'd still like to see more brand competition.

Will be interesting next year.

Big time.

Aliex Espargaro showed that the Aprilla is fully capable to keeping up with the Ducati's. Congrats to him on a great career and his retirement from racing.

Jorge is the man. I really hope he runs the #1 on the Aprilla next year and repeats the title.
