Had an itch a while back, had to top out the gen1. Full leathers, 75 degrees, 87 octane and too much adrenaline.

Google tracks says 161, garmin says 158. That's fast enough for me.

Speed is fun, but I'm ready for the north Arkansas twisties smoking some supersports this weekend ;evil

This post reminded me of last year when I attempted to top out my Gen 1 in the mountains up north. Even at high elevation and a slight uphill, I saw an indicated 175mph before I chickened out (No GPS at the time).

Just this weekend I attempted to top out my naked SV650 on that very same stretch and it wheezed out a mere 120mph on my GPS. I'm sure it had a little more in her if I was on some flat ground and not wearing my bulky rain suit over top my leathers.

Amazing what a difference a year makes huh?
 
This area sucks for any kind of good riding, so quick trips to the lake in the morning are alright. But any time on the fz1 is a good time ;D
