Adjusting rear shock preload

Manual says to turn adjusting ring with supplied tool.
You have got to be kidding me, you can barely get a hand in there let alone turn it as it seems like it’s not going to move at all (yes the bike is on the centerstand).

On my MX bikes, there is a lock ring that you loosen and then with a long flat punch type tool you hammer the preload ring to adjust the spring. This seems to be the only way to do this. But before I fubar the ring I just wanted to check with you guys.

How did you guys adjust your shock preload?

My g/f likes to go for rides so I figure its best to adjust the suspension for it.

Thanks,

Gary

You have to use the tool along with the flat extension handle to make it reach. I do all my adjustments on the clutch side of the bike. It's easy to do from that side. If my super big hands can get in there then anyone's can. If your trying to do it without the extension handle you'll never be able to reach. I have an 01' and I can adjust it in a snap!

Thanks for the info!
