clutch not disegaging

Is your lever arm pointed forward like the picture. I only ask because when re-assembling the clutch cover it’s possible to get the shaft for that lever out of position as the cover is put in place.

When you pull on the clutch lever on the bars does it seem like the lever at the clutch cover is moving, mine moves 5/8” if I measure at the u-bracket that holds the cable end.

Yes, it looks like that & moves fine.

The clutch worked fine on several rides before I started working in the carbs & flushing the coolant system. The bike did get slightly hot when tuning once but I shut it right down. I’ll looks fine. I was planning on changing the oil anyway so maybe that’ll help. Just not sure why this is happening all of a sudden.
