So I flushed my coolant system yesterday and at the end I flush with distilled water ran about 3 gallons through it, then I refilled with engine ice... I could only get it to take .5 gallons, I left the cap off and ran it up to 210 fans came on coolant expanded and was coming out of the filler, I'm kinda concerned it only took .5 gallons but that is only roughly 20oz of liquid less than what it's supposed to hold, is it possible there was a total of roughly 20oz stuck in the lines and other cooling channels? And that's why it only took the .5 (1.8L) ?

No shit? Well that's a relief I really thought I got almost all the coolant out so I was figuring at least a .5 jug and then a bit more from a second, thanks for the response. I got so worried I went a picked up a no spill funnel kit lol needless to say it wasn't ideal since the coolant res sits so low on these bikes it just ended up flowing and filling up the reservior lol.

That can easily happen haha
So I took her out for a rip today, fresh coolant, smog block off plates installed and it is running good I did notice the engine ice I wouldn't say runs that much cooler but it does cool down way faster I only noticed maybe a 5-8 degree difference on my running temp and when Im stopped of course no difference other than how much faster it cools.

I have wondered about the engine ice. It isn't unusual for me to see 8 to 10 degrees difference on the same trip with of course the same coolant depending on if I'm riding with the wind or against the wind. This when the ambient temperature is 90+ F like today's ride was. On cooler days the temperature is pretty constant.
