Hi guys, need some help

today my EML came on, stayed on for a while (30 mins) and then went off and didn't return on my trip home.
After doing a bit of googling I've managed to find 1 error code when doing a diagnostic check.
in d61 I had error code 48 which i think translates in to "jamming or short circuit in secondary servo valve throttle"
I have removed the exup valve and got healtech eliminator fitted if its anything to do with that and that was done about 11 years ago

Error 48 sounds like the sub-throttle servo motor. I had that code pop after i foolishly let a a horrible dealer in Highlands, TX do a valve adjustment. Most parts houses will list the servo motor as "in stock" but they are usually not in stock. Call and have them "lay hands on" the part before you order. Could be a couple of months waiting for them to bring it by canoe from Japan. If you have a really good parts guy that is linked up to the national parts network, they may be able to find a new one in the states or Canada. I found a salvage motor on ebay that was listed as coming off of a "perfectly running" 2008 FZ1 for about $100. The servo motor is mounted underneath the throttle bodies on the front right side of the throttle bodies, meaning that the throttle bodies have to come out to replace the motor. The electrical connector to the servo motor is underneath the motor, and zip-tied to the motor, so you're not going to be able to pull it loose to really check it without the throttle bodies removed.
I would check connections as much as you can first and check the servo motor linkage to see if it may be hanging up and just needs adjustment. There is a troubleshooting and diagnostic test outlined in the service manual, but with the air cleaner off, you should be able to see the butterflies open and close when you turn the ignition switch on. Run the tests and checks to see if you are getting issues there, and to see if the motor is operating properly.
If you don't find a solution with the tests and linkage checks, you may need to replace the servo motor.
