I recently heard of someone using Shell Rotella 15w40 in their FZ1. I was wondering if this is ok/safe because I can get it at a great price. Any thoughts? I have an 08 with about 23,000 miles.

Yep, Rotella T6 is JASO-MA certified which makes it safe to use in motorcycles. It's a great full synthetic oil for the money

I've found any good heavy duty oil [rated for diesel] is good. I particularly like Shell Rotella. I also prefer the 15-40 weight oil. This weight I can run all year in my bike [Upstate New York] and the bike seems to shift better than if I use 20-50.
