First gen forks needed or help on what else works

Hey, im new to the fz1 world considering i bought my bike in december. But last nite a bit ov gravel caused me to slide into a guard rail and bend my wheel and forks, so any help on stock parts or others that will work. I hear the popular swap is r1 parts but im not sure on what all i would need for that conversion. Any help would be greatly appreciated, i live in rose bud, Arkansas. Thanks

Hey bud going through the same thing for different reasons but r6 forks are pretty much a straight fit as long as they are the conventional forks in 43mm which leaves you with 98-04 models this is what im doing they are a touch shorter which is fine as makes handling better also r1 fork conversion is an option search the forum plenty of threads around for that

Im finally getting used to this site and doing the research, and im finding that the r1 parts are cheaper on ebay than the fz1 parts, but i will look into the r6 stuff as well, and hopefully i can get it fixed and any better performance i get from it will be a bonus. Thanks for the help
