Yes, you can buy a kit that "bolts on" but I am not sure what's involv
ed with wiring it

The parts are the easy thing. The wiring is the challenge. Lots of people roll up the (huge) stock harness and tuck it behind the headlight. Mine is trimmed down to a fraction of the original size. There are lots and lots of threads detailing the conversion. Search "FZ1N Conversion" or "Burlington Yamaha" to start. Lots of great info to get you started and those threads will lead you to countless others.
