gen 2 trip won't reset

Hi guys
Can't reset the trip , I can hear the button click when depressed, but won't reset , anybody had problems with this ? any cures ?

from memory you might need to hold it down for a second or two to get it to reset.

Thanks for the reply ,, its always been fine as I reset every time I fuel, just started playing up so wondering if there's a common problem /fix
