Ground clearance

Thinking about trading my gixxer 750 for a fz1, as im not getting on with the position of sport bikes anymore. I was just wondering if there's any ground clearance issues when riding quick and tipping the bike over. A few people have told me that grinding the footpegs on this bike is a bit to easy.

with proper weight springs and suspension set-up there is no clearance problem, you will run out of rubber before you scrape the pegs

I can't speak for the Gen1, but with the Gen2 I ground the stock pegs all the time. Rearsets fixed that problem.

I second that. I've had mine out to the last little bit of tire and never touched a peg. I'm only 190 though.

Think im gonna go ahead and buy the fz1 on a 06 plate now, i can always put some rearsets on it if need be:shine:

If you are a track guy you'll need to upgrade rear shock at minimum. You could keep the 750 for track. If money is an issue Gen 1 bikes are very fast and comfortable and cheap!
