it just happened to present itself the day I installed the lowers.
I have since torn into the airbox to find that I had a K&N filter that was in much need of a cleaning and re-oiling. There was also a remnant of a leaf that was pinned against the filter.
Upon cleaning -- new life has been brought back to the bike, but because of cooler temperatures, I have not been able to see if it might be temperatrue related...
