Great Ride
I noticed this thread hasn't been commented on in awhile but I liked the question so I thought I would put in my two cents. Highway 24 from Leadville, Colorado to Minturn is a great stretch of road (depending on time of day). It's twisty and sticks to the side of some gorgeous mountains. The traffic can get bad on the weekends but early morning weekday rides are a blast. The scenery is great but I usually like to go too fast to check it out. It used to be my daily commute so I got to know it pretty well. From Leadville you can go in any number of directions for some great riding.
