Lower handlebar info.

So I have my gen1 and I would like to have a more agressive riding position ( dont tell me to buy a ss please...). I saw these pictures and I think it would be a good alternative... What is this setup made of? ( handlebar name, riser?, lower?) Thanks!

Looks like gen 2 factory bars. I installed renthal straight bars on mine. Same affect. Little cheaper

Not sure if interested but I have a GYT-R 1" riser I am selling as my old body does not like the lower bars

Thanks but I placed my order for a Renthal 658-02 flat bar so I wont need the gytr riser!

You will have to ether a) tap the end of the bar to get the stock bar ends to screw in or b) get the expandable bar ends like I did. Also you will have to drill holes for the set pins for your left and right switch controls or just cut the pins off. Well worth it though.

Do you have a link where I can see what kind of bar ends I'll need?

They were just 7/8th universal bar ends I believe. There is a thread somewhere on this site for the mod.

I went from the stock risers to the GYT-R risers. also adjusted the handlebar angle to make sure they didn't hit the tank at full lock. Still undecided if I want to go lower or narrower.

I'll make a review of the Renthal 658 and take some pictures of the riding position before/after the install

Did you lowered the front suspension?

yes around 1", I'm 5' 9" so doing the r6 mod dropped the rear around an inch. it worked perfectly.

that's odd. The inch sign doesn't show. Anyway they are down an inch.
