Does anyone know what to do here, I have no high beam when toggeling light switch but when I press pass button brights come on?

Thats where i would start also. You know its not the elements so the switch would be my guess.

Is the 'pass' button just a euro thing? I'm pretty sure my FZ1 doesn't have one.

Most markets outside of the US have a pass, or high beam, spring loaded switch on the back of the left side control module. It comes in very handy to give a quick flick to oncoming motorists, unfortunately it is seldom seen on US models, it must be some sort of law although I have seen some US spec bikes with them.

Check the multi plug for corossion on the loom from the switch also the main plug on the left side where it comes from under the tank , its under the inner fairing panel on the s model . Sounds like a bad connection
