They definitely unloaded on him, to the point where i think he will be the one riding recklessly. That would be awesome if he cleaned everyone's clocks.Ducati has done so much poopooing on Jorge Martin it makes me sad. I really hope Jorge takes the Championship this year and next.
The rest of this season will be the defining moment in his Career - if he is really one of the greats he will double down under the pressure and get a few more wins and take the points. They definitely unloaded on him, to the point where i think he will be the one riding recklessly. That would be awesome if he cleaned everyone's clocks.
I think KTM and Aprilla are right there with Ducati - just lacking the Talent to make best use of those bikes.I look forward to the day when other manufacturers are competitive. Don't appreciate effectively one brand racing when there is so much talent in the pack.
They definitely spent way more on r&d way earlier than everyone else.I think Ducati are still significantly ahead of the others, but it sure could be interesting for the rest of the year and into next.
Yeah that was bizzare - he knew there was a problem and waved Diggia past him so he could heat up the front and bring the tire back within pressure spec.Marc gets post race penalty of 16 seconds for pressure violation. Reduced from 4th to 10th. Sprint and main race were entertaining especially if you root for Ducati.
Another way to control racing from the booth.Yeah that was bizzare - he knew there was a problem and waved Diggia past him so he could heat up the front and bring the tire back within pressure spec.
I have mixed feelings about the tire pressure thing.
1 - it is another part of racing rules you have to comply with - and the intention is to make it safer....
but
2 - If your team is better at knowing what pressure is needed for the conditions and it makes you faster - isn't that part of the "teams" championship?
Hard for me to form a strong opinion about it outside of not wanting to see riders purposely give up a position because they need to get tires hotter..... that is just bad racing.
well they are going to remove the ride height devices for 2027 if I recall correctly and that is a big part of the launch control mechanism.Ducati's launch control has been superior to other brands. Once front runner is in place with clear air it's hard to do much about it. I'd like to see launch control abolished and make riders learn how to do it again.
Regulate how?Is it against the rules to regulate tire pressure during the race?
10 laps???!!!!Regulate how?
They have to be in a certain range of pressure for a certain percentage of the race. before this was being enforced (it has been a rule for a number of years but was not enforced) Teams set the pressure below the threshold to compensate for the extreme heat that can build when following another rider.
It is my understanding that the riders prefer the pressure to be lower for corner grip and when the tires get too hot they slide out on the turns more often without any warning.
Marc saw on his dashboard that his pressure was too low and got behind Diggia in the hopes it would heat up and get to where it needed to me. Apparently that strat did not work and he was out of range for too long and hence got the 10 lap penalty.
