My FZ1 crash, film...well, right now

You're a lot tougher than me. I go down like that and my riding days are over. Thanks for sharing.

That's my second track crash in two years. I'm working on not having another.

I've had maybe three street getoffs, none really serious. I dunno. I like to ride. I understand the risk. I respect it. But I don't want to let it scare me off for good. (I'm not that young, either. 61.)

Dang that sucks. I've personally crash tested my gloves. Ok, not really. I mean, I DID have them on when I crashed and they DID NOT come apart and I DID NOT have any hand injuries. It's just that I landed fully on my butt, so they really didn't get used. :D

However, they are the Teknic Violator II's and are my second set of Violators and they last forever. I've had each set for around five years before they needed replacement with daily commuting.

So, for whatever that's all worth to ya...

Well, I know it's weird asking, but what was your butt wearing and how did it hold up then??

Blue Jeans. I had additional armor of a wallet. Came down square on it. Didn't hurt till about two hours later. Bruise didn't show up for two weeks which freaked me out when it did come in. I couldn't sit on that cheek for about a week and couldn't wear my wallet in that pocket for almost two months.

Wallet came out fine, although as always, somewhat lighter through the entire process. Jeans are fine, though I had to take them to the cleaners for removal of an odd brown stain in the back. Acuras crossing your path sure are scary.

Yea, I have better gear now though, for the ATTGATT folks. :D

Thanks for asking!

Hi Berto, Sorry to see this mishap, but glad you're ok and still have the humor to make this vid on a new type of lawnmower...well if you go to the tracks you always wanna explore your limits and it's "safer" on the track than road...less trees etc

lots of good info here.I was looking at the Sp2's last week but I think I will pass on them now.I have not had a trackday yet but have been assembling gear for it I have oxtar tsc evo rx boots,3 different armored jackets to choose,my new Astar,Shift and off brand America's powersport still dont have pants

Sorry about your crash Berto but those gloves are very substandard.

My track gloves rarely costs less than $550, some $800 and fortunately I can still wipe my own a*s

Have a chat to some medical pros about racing gloves and I hope to be able to shake hands with you some day.

As for the crash, well handled. :)

With the speed you ride at you should invest in some pants.

Sorry about your crash, glad you didn't get mangled. Love the video! It's amazing how a little sarcastic humor can make something special out of a bad situation!
