Hi I need some help, I had to change fans on my FZ1-N 2008 and decided to go for a pair of R1 fans.
Had it changed by a mechanich and according to him everything was working. After I parked the bike in my garage it sounded like the coolant was boiling and I heard the fans did not start.

I've checked the fuses and both are fine, the colant level is very low just above minimum but besides that everything works.

Really need some help with what the problem could be?

Thanks!

How high did the temperature gauge get? Did you personally verify that the fans were working before you got the bike from the mechanic? Not sure what it could be if fuses are good, unless the temp sender or fan relay went bad. Here's a post from someone that swapped out the FZ1 radiator (and fans) for one from an R1:

well to be honest I've used him for my GSX-R and my VFR before that and never had any problems with him before so when he told me it was fixed I just jumped on my bike and drove off.

At 107C degrees I turned off the bike, have tried it 3 times after and same thing happens or dosnt happen ;)

I'll check out the link.

Yea, by 107C the fans should have come on...

Sounds like a thermostat issue. I'd just check and make sure there aren't any wires dangling, if the terminations seem good I'd take it back.

Relay?

It could be a bad relay. Most circuits like a fan system have a relay that is turned on from a temperture sensor(thermostat) and the relayed circuit is protected by a fuse. Even if the fuse is OK the relay could be bad, and if that is the case the fans will not work.

thanks for all your input.

Yes I can and most likly will go back to him to make him look at it. I will tell him that he might have to switch the wiring.

All wires looks ok so maybe it's the relay or maybe the thermostat is broken?

The reason I used R1 fans was that the old one started to make a really bad noise after a small trip off the road, mostlikly the bearings so I changed. Found the R1 fans for a great price.

Take it back to the mechanic. You accepted the repair was done in good faith. Get him to fix it but this time check that the fans kick in at the right temperature. Should not be your issue to get stressed about. Cheers.

Yes I have spoken to him today and I will go back to him tomorrow. However he still thinks it could be because the fans don't fit to the FZ-1 wich I think is BS?

We'll see what he says tomorrow but I will def. let him do this job for free.
