I purchased my 2010 last July and have been enjoying it off and on since then (avoiding cold weather right now). My previous bike was a 1987 FZR1000 but I needed something a little more up right for longer rides. I have just added new handlebars, foot pegs, and ordered another windscreen to be able to ride in colder weather. I would like to do some long distance rides during the better weather. My wife and I ride together with a group from where I work (she has a gsx650f). I would like to offer a hello to everyone out there and hope to see some good riding during nice weather!!!!

:welcome: Nice to have you here. My wife and I ride together when we can. She's currently on an '09 Ninja 250r. She just started last spring. I figure she'll want to move up to a little more power when she's a bit more comfortable sometime in the next 2 years. We've been looking at the FZ6R, Ninja 650R and the GSX650F. I'd love to see some pics of your bikes and hear how she likes her GSX and how long she's had it.

Congrats on the FZ1. I think it's one of the best 'do-it-all' bikes there is (well, minus the off-road stuff... LOL although I've seen some youtube videos of R1's)

Thanks on the FZ1 - I love it so far, it has done everything I have wanted. I am older and not as daring but I still love the ability to get a little crazy now and again and still have a good bike to ride to work. My wife has been dying to get a bike for a long time (15 years) and she started out on nighthawk 250 we borrowed but I told her she needed to get a 600, I hate to waste money and I could not see her buying a new bike after a couple of months. She sat on more bikes than anyone I have ever known and she loved how the GSX felt. It has nice midrange and smooth acceleration. I got a great deal it was a 2008 and I bought it in the fall of 2009 new for 4500.00. She has dropped it a couple of times at the end of 2009 but she had trouble keeping her feet down. I lowered it 1" in the back and 1" up front and the bike rides nicer and she has kept it up ever since. I just added some lift to the handlebars and she can go hours with no complaints about wrists and hands. I actually ride it to work due to the 50 MPG and it is great from beginner to experienced rider. It is nice to get out together and do something we both enjoy.

Pics of both bikes

Here are a couple of pictures of both bikes. We wntt o waldo in central Ohio for the fried bologna sandwiches. Last nice day of fall.

Hi C-Snake your bike looks really nice. They are comfortable for us older riders with the more upright position. Im 53 and dont like lying on the tank. You choose the right bike.

Welcome aboard C-Snake! That's one nice FZ1 you got there. My favorite color, but then again I'm probably a little biased :D And my first bike years ago was an '88 FZR1000 (blue and white).
