to the White Mountains or the Kangamangus Highway anytime soon. 302, Franklin Notch and the Kanc are all closed until further notice. That'll kill the leaf-peepers this year.

Yup... Irene's rains washed out a lot of good roads. Thus there is no idea what route is safe... One bridge on the Kanc is collapsed and two major washouts....

If only.... Michele was able to ride AND we had the time to jump on the bikes, head west and enjoy the company and sights for a while.
