GeeWhiz Information, Folks:

Been a rash of high speed chases in Upstate New York within last six-weeks. One guy was clocked at 166 mph, another at 193 mph. Both bikes were Suzuki's. ....Real live Road Warrior scenes.

Both Uber Speeders were *noticed* by State Police on Thurway around Albany, NY and then tracked and caught around New Paltz, NY [120-140 miles]when the bikes had to re-fuel. Otherwise, Police would never caught them even though every on-duty cop within 50-miles of Thurway be figuring a way to get in on the chases.

Crazy.

I do question the 193-mph chase. Can a factory sport bike hit that speed or was it modified?

I read this story the other day on jalopnik. Apparently the 193 was 'estimated', so who really knows. There are definitely bikes that can hit that, though.

Depends on the bike, hyabusa's and other big bikes are capable of 200mph but the feds make them electronically limit those bikes too 186. If you find away to remove the limiter, 193 is well within reach.

Actually it was a gentleman agreement among the Japanese manufactures that set the limit at 186 mph (300 kph).
