Hi

I'm looking at replacing my Triumph speed triple and really like the FZ1 but have only been able to take one for a short ride.

My wife has started to ride pillion more regularly now our kids are getting older and unfortunately finds the Triumph's seat very uncomfortable after only about 80 miles, is the FZ1 likely to be more comfortable for longer distances.

I'm also very prone to my hands going numb after a few miles, I could last about 40 miles on a fireblade and about 60 miles on a VTR1000 i used to own but rarely have a problem with the Triumph, is high frequency vibration a problem at 70 to 90mph cruising speeds.

Any comments or advice would be gratefully received.

Bikes like the FZ1 really aren't made for two up riding for very long distances. The pillion seat is on the smallish side and the footpegs put your lady in the 'sit up and beg' position. Not sure it is going to be huge improvement over the Triumph you have.

Vibration doesn't seem to be a real problem although I do use a CrampBuster lever to take some of the pressure off the throttle hand.
