Plate light wiring

So I’m in the process of sorting out my 2008. A PO had “fabricated” a fender eliminator without illumination of the plate and there is no sign of where the plate light might have been wired. There are several options of where i could splice into some switched power and ground, but I’d like to get back as close to the factory wiring as i can. Can anyone describe or post a photo of what that looks like so i can try to replicate?
