Re-installing front wheel

Hey guys!

So I bought a new front tire for my 2010 FZ1, and have rang into a snag.

I took off the calipers, pulled the wheel, changed the tire out ect. When to put it back on, got the axle in and everything still spun freely. But after I put on the calipers (one went fine, other was a little tight) the wheel won't spin at all. pumping the brake got a little feeling in the lever but was still pretty spongy.

Any idea's? :dontknow:

By any chance are the pads uneven? Did you put back both spacers and bearings? Did you open the brake lines? If so you will need to bleed them. I just did my front pads. I used a C-Clamp to push the piston back into the caliper. Installation was a snap. The tire wouldn't spin unaided till I put a few miles on the pads and broke them in.
Also depending on your pads, rotors and the age of your fluid (assuming everything was installed correctly) you may need to disassemble and trouble shoot from there.
Good luck.

I think I see what my problem is, the spacing between the forks is uneven! one rotor is closer than the other

I have the spacers in on the wheel though. How is this kicking my ass so bad haha. Any idea what I'm doing/not doing?

You have both spacers in (one on either side)? The two front spacers are the same so you can't mix them up. Make sure they are properly seated in the wheel...

Figured it out. I took the wheel up to the shop yesterday to put the tire on, and they put it on the wheel backwards. The arrow on the spoke is pointing to the rear! At least I think that what my problem is.

Back on the road!

The tire was mounted backwards in the end, whaddya want for 10 bucks? haha

Glad you got it figured out....I always check to make sure everything is in the right direction when putting new tires on. In my case it is easier due to the easy to see rim label, but it is always good to check the arrow on the tire to ensure it is mounted correctly ....
