Remove Front Wheel Part II

In a failed attempt to remove my front wheel today, I was stopped because I didn't realize the hydraulic line bolt had a backing nut on it. I could not slip the wheel past the calipers. As I put it back together so that I could come and whine about it here, I noticed that the 6mm bolt has a 10mm backing not on it.

Taking that apart would allow some wiggle room, but it must work. The thread "Front Wheel Removal" shows an FZ with the front off and calipers dangling. So its possible.

Is that the whole trick? Undue that hydraulic line hold and I'll have enough movement to pull the calipers over the rotors?

I just unbolt the calpiers from the fork legs , and cable tie them back out of the way you won't get the wheel past them , certainly not without damaging it. The wheel will come out then no problem , I don't touch the line bolt
