Techincally I still have it--but it isn't getting the love like it should anymore.

Bought this on a whim on E-bay last night.

Pick it up tomorrow!

Now I need to clean up the FZ1 to sell.

You know, I never really like the GenI. Granted, I never rode a GenII, but im basing it on my R6. I had an R6, sold it, and got the FZ1 because I wanted a '1000'. I really missed the handling of the R6.

So i'm picking up this bike tonight--with nothing more than a trailer and some ratchets. What is the preferred method for tieing down you think? Im concerned with mounting points for the front and damaging the fairings.

Get a Canyon Dancer bar type harness - I use one for my CBR600 which has full fairing - it places the tie downs at the end of the handle bars away from the body work. A good shop should have them or something very similar.

Canyon Dancer Inc.

Can also use set of soft tie-downs, but those can still leave you with a rub problem.

Those are pretty handy but I had my fz1 and her fz8 strapped down each with one and the fz8 handlebars shifted back with it on there...

There are definitely some blemishes on it. You get close, you start to see the mis-matches.

For one--the undertail thing he put on eliminated the key mechanism for the rear seat...so...its ziptied on there with no clear way to remove the thing and get to the PC3.

The fairing hardware is ALL mismatched and looks like a hardware store special.

I'll need to work on getting everything nice and clean.
