So I know that this has been asked a thousand times before but what seat? A little history. Every bike I've owned I'm never happy with the stock seat. My FZ6 I've gone from stock, then the comfort seat, tried a Corbin and then got the TP seat. The TP seat is the best and the most comfortable but doesn't fit the bike as well as the Corbin or Yamaha seat. So should I go for the TP seat straight off for the FZ1 or is the comfort seat for the FZ1 more comfortable then the one on the FZ6? Physically I'm 5'8" and weight 170lb and I know some bigger riders were complaining of feeling the seat pan on the Comfort seat. Thing is I haven't even rode the new bike yet. I don't pick it up until the end of the week but because I'm from Canada and picking the bike up in the US I would like to buy a seat and pick it up State side to avoid paying the taxes which add 13% on every purchase, even used stuff bought privately.

Just my $0.5 Comfort Gel for quick availability. But knowing the roads up north, really could use a Top Sellerie seat to keep you planted :) But that could be a 6 week wait. I'm 6' @ 185lbs with boney ass. Stock botherd me after 80 min & Comfort gel about 4 hrs. TS... the day is over before the comfort ends for me.

I have an 06 fz1 that had 7000 mi. on oem seat and it was very hard and had bad pressure points for me.Couldn't ride more than 50 miles without wanting to get off.I bought a corbin comfort seat and after putting it on it still felt too hard but was a little better.Something you need to remember is the more you ride the more broke in the seat will be.I haven't tried other types but 2nd summer up to 200 miles no problem. You could also take the oem seat pan and get a custom made if it's really that bad.I would ask other riders what seat types and the real break in period for them was.I'm 5'11 170.

Mr Dirt Road really seems to do very nice job and has many happy customers on the other FZ site.

Just bought a Yamaha comfort seat from a forum member. If it doesn't work for me I'll sell it for what I paid and get the dirt. Was surprised to read that he does them for $140, what I paid for the comfort. Not a lose though because I'm going to have to send him a seat pad (stock one) while I use the comfort seat. Never know, I may find the comfort adequate.
