SMH10 problems

SMH10 fitting issue

I have a shoei X-twelve helmet that already was a tight fit. The installed speakers (SMH10 motorcycle bluetooth headset) press against my ears and cause discomfort after about a half hour of wearing it. I was hoping to find a solution without having to buy additional parts. Is there a safe way to shave down the inner lining of the helmet without compromising structural integrity? I have seen the earbud solution but want to have as little extra stuff to carry around. Any thoughts?

Your thread title is misleading. The SMH10 is not the problem, but rather your helmet or your ears. I would probably carve a small amount of foam and call it good. I have no issues with mine installed in my RF1000 or my HJC.
