Sticky barrel

Hey guys and girls,

Does anyone have a fix for a sticky ignition barrel? I have tried a bit of CRC (WD40) but it didn't loosen it up too much, has anyone got a different idea?

You can buy a proper lock lube made of graphite and that should be much more effective. I used to use wd40 as well but the right product is much better

I have tried some chain lubes before as well and I do use them for lubing up various parts & pivots on the bike. I think one of the issues with using them in locks and things like that is that they can go thick or sticky when dry and also collect dirt.

I've never used the DuPont stuff but I have tried PJ-1 and Motul chain lubes with poor results.

Nothing's worked quite as well as the proper graphite stuff

This is what I bought

How about using DuPont Teflon Chain Lube? Any potential electrical problems there?

do not use that on anything electrical....

<--- this guy knows from experience

my well pump switch was "Sticking"... cleaned the contacts with my dupont... about 20 minutes later we smelled something... d@$m switch melted... apparently, the teflon made the switch really "stick" when current went through it....
