Suzuki Trackday season has started

A short warmup lap at Zolder on friday March 30th, followed by a trackday at Mettet. Here I've been able to test my Hero2 cam on different positions...

it was indeed a great day and having not been on the track since July last year...it's like riding a bike, you don't forget how to...duh:Rockon:

another trackday survived during rainshowers on my favourite track in Belgium Mettet. The Michelin Pilot Power 2CT held great on the wet track.
A few pics and vids below. When wearing a orange jacket I was a front row rider for track novices...

Track days at Ecuyeres France- Season ended

Spent a sunny but very warm weekend on the Ecuyeres track in Beuvardes near Soissons France.
Saturday went well and had a blast, sunday first session started good but second session ended quite abrupt.
Below some pictures. Vids are in process

and then misfortune happened. Photographer took some pics while I was already on the roll in the side. When coming out a 90° richt corner I slowly opened up throthle and was putting the bike upright when all of a sudden I lost my rear tire, the rpms went high and the bike catapulted me off on the tarmac. I rolled violently for looked like for ever on the hard tarmac (felt like bouncing) for meters before rolling in to the side next to my bike. I remember a short violent pain in my foot and my helmet smacking on the floor...
When it stopped I layed down for a while coming to senses and felling if everything allright. Slowly started to move limbs and head to learn my right foot was not ok..

What happened? Tarmac too hot? (measured in the morning about 44°C) Tire too hot? Too quick to hard on the throtthle? (Could be I was was chasing to catch another rider) In any case these are the risks you take when on the track and thank God for good protection gear.

Unfortunately this means my 2012 track season is over and ....I must admit during my tumbling I was seriously spooked and hoped that I would not be hurt seriously or overrun by another rider...in those split seconds a lot passed my eyes... And I cannot blame my wife for asking me to stop for now....risks are high and I cannot afford to become criple or even worse for my family...
Also very unfortunate I will no tbe able to fit in a pair of motorcycle boots for 10 days, let alone apply/use right foot to ride my FZ1 in the Romanian roads in September. That'll have to wait for next year. Damn! :shame:

So for all you trackriders, keep on doing what you love to do, but keep it safe...I hope one day to be back on track
