Weekend Getaway

My wife & I are planning a little weekend getaway. Probably 3 hours away or so. I'm wondering what's the best way to map out the trip using mostly back roads? All of the bigger mapping sites route me on the highways.

AAA has great paper maps, if you don't use AAA perhaps you can find a friend who does and can get the maps for you.
The Tunnel of Trees is a great ride and a night in Mackanaw City would be good, lots of great roads north of you.
