Wrapping airbox with heat shield

The airbox sits right on top of the motor. It gets hot. The intake temperature gets above 100 degrees easily. What if you could wrap the unit with heat reflective material and reduce the intake air temperature by say 10 -20 degrees? That would be significant!

I am going to be modifying the airbox this week. I am going to give it a try. I am going to record my air intake temperature before and after. I will keep everyone posted.

What do you think?

I did the Lars airbox mod, but I did not wrap the aibox with heat shield. After looking at it the potential temperature difference would be minimal.

I have attached a couple of pics of the airbox mod. I can feel a difference in the all important butt dyno.
