Zero Motorcycle

It's pretty nice. No clutch, just twist and go. Its not a rocket ship out of the hole but it keeps up with traffic. Once going it is pretty zippy. Brakes are great, suspension is good, build quality is very nice.

Hey Pete, did they tell you what the travel limit on a full charge? By the way, I hate the fact that your wearing short sleeves! I awoke to 4" of snow here this morning! :disapproval:

The range with a Lithium Ion battery is about 40 to 50 miles. For 2012, the bike I rode is a 2011, they will use Lithium Ferrous (LiFePO4) batteries and get up to 120 miles.

These things are very, very quiet, silent. As I rode through downtown Austin I had to use the horn to let pedestrians know I was there.

My wife and I were going to lunch nearby and I didn't have any gear at all; we just dropped in spur of the moment. It's 54 degrees and in the shade is was a pretty chilly ride!

Oh, I didn't mean because the lack of gear, I was just jealous to see you with "summer clothing" on. We finally got our first dose of Winter and it SUCKS!!! Thank God it's almost February.

If it is anything close to what I found on the net :jawdrop:

Ill stick with the conventional bike, thanks.

Edit: guess I should of scrolled down to save me the heartache of going on their website.

KTM has a bike called the Free ride that is totally electric as well. One hour at full throttle is what they claim. For now Zero has a lot more in there line up. It would be weird, just the sound of the tires on pavement and the wind.

Are you sitting down, and holding onto something????
...
This model starts at $11,500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :doh2:

As neat as it is the price is the biggest obstacle in making it a sales success. I know that the biggest cost is the battery and maybe in a few years when the price comes down it makes more sense.

Personally if I was looking for a small city bike (which is really what that is) I would get a Honda VFR250 and pocket the difference :D
