Run without exup?

The answer may be on the site somewhere but I have yet to find it. I am new with a used 2002 FZS10 with 34,000 miles. Besides having to address some clutch issues etc. My motor began to run really ratty. It appears the servo motor for the exup valve is not working as when I wired the valve open and detached the cables it started running back to its good self. I also put in new plugs. My question is can I simply ride it with cables from the exup valve detached without damage to the motor till I can install a new servo motor and just keep the valve wired open?
Thanks,
Kent

I know everything I've read says not to take out the exup valve in the first generation fz1's, but mine is rattling and not working correctly so instead of adjusting and lubricating I'm just going to buy some black widow headers. I don't like the idea of running catalytic converters unless absolutely necessary and i think the exup is just more emissions control to be able to sell it with all the regulations. I'll update you guys with the results

My 2003 has a full Yoshimura system. When I bought it back in 2013 it had the stock system on it with the EXUP valve. The bike had 38k miles at that time.

I swapped out the Full Yoshimura system, Headers and muffler, right away. Currently have 120k miles and no issues related to the motor at all. You should be fine with headers.
