Daughter Deployed to Theater Today.

The fact that your daughter is Special Forces tells me she is one TOUGH young lady. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and yours that she comes home safe and sound at the end of her tour. I admire her courage in being willing to serve our nation in a time of war knowing full well she could be sent over there. Best of luck to her.

Got to chat a bit tonite with the little hard ass. Al Qaeda teams been hitting the FOB's hourly today-tonite. Little effect aginst the SOCOM teams. But still a pain in the ass. Not much I can do from here. But I sai what I could and came to mind.
"Soldiers do things that other people "CAN'T" and "WON'T"... That's why it's called service. Love you, little one. Do great things, be safe, good hunting. It's patriot's day. Remember why soldiers do what we do. I'm more proud of you than words can say, g'nite love."

Keep your boots tight and on your A game all the time man. From personal experience military members don't like civilians that are making two to three times as much doing the same job and alot of them aren't very proffesional when addressing military members either (not saying you won't be). Case in point we had a civilian tell us that he can leave his bag where ever he wanted in our terminal without watching them because he makes way more money than we do, the NOCIC didn't like this at all. Needless to say his bags met their end with a block of C4 from EOD, I also want to say that this guy worked in the terminal and was the biggest jerk you ever have met. Small peice of advice dont leave your bags unattened in air terminals it is protocal to take care of them this way. Where you going in Afgahn maybe I will see you there in the near future?

He won't have a rifle issued which kinda sucks cause I load planes and there are parts of my job that I have to have my M4 with a mag in becuase of the threat level (you know its not good when they tell AF to arm themselves lol). One more peice of advice its not uncommon to take IDF(indirect fire) when coming off an aircraft so really keep you head down. This happened to me coming into Bahgdad.

Using Facebook (of all things) the kids in 3rd SF are able to send short messages home. Some brilliant 18E (SF Commo SGT's) were able to use field equipment to post online, on mission. So far it's been pretty cool, wish I had that when I was in.

This message from her was not so great.

3 opperators from 3rd SF Group (Airborne), one who just yesterday slapped an SF Combat Patch on her in the field, were killed in action. She seemed first upset them quickly graduated to pissed off and focused.

It is great that these things are in place to allow some form on contact. It would pain me a great deal to have a child deployed and just not know what their status is for any length of time. Let's hear it for technology! Not the best news to hear BUT at least it is from her, not about.... Thank God!
