Yeah I'm right on the edge of it myself. i'm just west of cedar park on 1431. It's gorgeous out here. I Just moved down from central michigan 6 months ago, and i couldn't be happier with the area!
The same way they check to make sure a helmet is DOT approved. They don't unless they absolutely have to (and i'll assume it was a stipulation inserted by the insurance company lobbyists to drum up some more money to cover the obvious increase in claims on motorcycle accidents). Just wait until...
ah much appreciated. I'll send him the link to your video page so he can take a look. I've never had anyone record from my bike before so i'm a bit clueless, and we're taking a good chunk of time to take a bunch of angles so I want to make sure it's done right.
So I work with a guy who's branching out in his side-job (he's a photographer/graphic designer/videographer) in his spare time. He's been building a portfolio of different things, and one of the things he asked me after seeing my desktop and the rotating killboy pics, was if I'd want to let him...
I did Michigan to deals gap, rode non-stop for a week there, then rode back to michigan. There's 5 things I always tell people to write down and remember before they head out on a trip.
1) Go with the flow of traffic. You'll be tempted to dial it up a bit when the road clears out a bit, or...
Welcome!
Hope you're close enough to ride the hill country on it! that's when these bikes really shine. 400 miles in a day and it'll just snort and whine and ask for more twisties.
Make sure the cam chain isn't slapping. It's a PITA to fix. It's center hung (at least on the 1100, and I imagine the 750 is the same). Other than that, they're bulletproof and great bikes. Do vintage races with it!
We should all meet up sometime in the next couple of weeks and go riding. I'm waiting on new tires to get in before I do anything too nutty. But that'll be resolved by monday (hopefully) :). I don't mind if it's a long ride, or just meeting up somewhere and doing a ride out lime creek, 1431 or...
It's phenomenal. I rode from Michigan to Asheville two years in a row to ride down there for vacation. If you've never been, it's really worth the trip! And yeah deals gap might not even be the best road there. I mean it's the most famous, and the most technical. But it's also quite busy and is...
I moved to central tx so I wouldn't have to deal with this wet stuff! Ah well, that's what happens when you ONLY have a motorcycle, guess it's time to shower up, spend the 20 minutes to get kitted out in the water-proofs, oil the chain and hit the road!
Damn! I lived in that town until 5 months ago. That's one hell of a deal on a titled track bike. Grr, if i had the extra cash i'd buy it, throw plastics back on it, title it, sell it and sell all the race parts either with or separately. There's gotta be $5500 worth of bike there for $3700.
I'll be really interested in coming down, not 100% sure what kind of time I can get off of work at the moment, but I will be able to make it there for saturday/sunday for sure. When it gets a bit closer I'll figure out if i'll maybe caravan down with you austin guys or just meet up with you all...
