VERY nice to meet you guys too!
And yes, Hail, my ride back was uneventful. I think I got out just in time - there was some traffic, but nothing I couldn't handle.
Thanks for posting the pics, Dustin! Have fun at the races!
(Yeah, we do have nice folks here on the forum.)
Well bummer, I thought there was a post somewhere with your number, maybe you pulled it. No worries, I can just meet y'all at the Iron Cactus.
What time for lunch?
I'm in on lunch at the Iron Cactus.
I'm checking a few things here, and will roll within the hour. I'll grab your number from that other thread, and call or text when I'm in Austin proper.
This may actually work out! The wife works Friday, so I won't be missed much if I sneak out and run up there early. Lunch sounds like a decent idea. I am off duty at 6:30 AM on Friday and would probably try to ride up as early as I can to facilitate coming back home before too much 5:00...
Thanks for sharing!
Looks like you need a smaller bike for that kind of stuff. I've been drooling over the idea of getting one of KTM's new 1190 Adventures, but I fear that it will be too big to do the really fun stuff. I want it mostly so I can go to Alaska, but I want to do trails, rough...
Safe travels to ya, Good Buddy! Great progress so far.
Do you have plans in Austin for Wednesday or Friday? Not sure if you will be there yet by Wednesday, but maybe I can run up there and buy you a beer one of those days. I work Thursday and Saturday.
It's only about a 2 and a half hour...
Got back under the tank of the SV and this time fixed that pesky fuel leak - I changed the line and threw two more new clamps on it.
Then I took her out for a spin, more like a thrashing. Funny how after riding the Fazer, I now have to pretty much peg every gear on the SV to have any fun with...
From another 'MotoCamper', Welcome to the Club.
I actually prefer to camp when I'm on the bike ... I like the idea of being self-sufficient, and I LOVE being outdoors.
Attempted to stop the fuel line leak on my SV650S. But, alas, the rear fuel clamp is still leaking (and I used two new clamps!) I'll get to it in the morning.
I'm using the Go Cruise Throttle Lock. It was only $20 and has worked well for me on multiple trips of up to 1500 miles. It doesn't 'lock' the throttle like some of the other (better) choices do, but it provides enough hand relief for me. I just noticed that they have a new model out that is...
It's early yet, but this is one of the widest vote spreads that I have seen in a while.
I think it's gonna come to to a Pretty Lady vs a Dragon Slayer ...
I'm so 'jelly' right now! My best ever on the Fazer was 184 miles (and I thought I would be stranded at any moment). I usually fuel at least by the 170 mile mark.
