Hey Guys,

I just picked up an FZ1 earlier this afternoon. My wife has been riding an FZ6 for a while and every time I would take it out for a spin I would find myself really enjoying it.

I traded in a Yamaha Warrior for the FZ1. While the warrior has super torq, it was heavy and cumbersome at slow speeds.

Hopefully you guys can give me lots of insight and information.

Here is a pic I took earlier today. It doesn't even have 10 miles on it yet.

:welcome: pigs! That's the perfect choice in year and color! Of course, I am biased. :D

We can give you LOTS of insight. Here's a GREAT place to start with links to all sorts of threads. http://www.998cc.org/forum/gen-ii-mods/7114-gen-ii-mods-start-here.html

There's a lot you can do with this bike and quite a few things can be done very cheap or free!

What are you considering for the first mods? Feel free to question me about any listed in my sig below. ;)

thanks for the welcome guys. As far as mods go, I'm planning on lots of them. My wife's FZ6, is basically street fighter style. Imagine street triple looking. Removal of front faring, dual circular head lights...I'm thinking something a long those lines. We'll just have to see. Gotta get the bike run in first.

Not really sure about performance mods. I don't mind keeping a stock exhaust. Anyway, not sure.

Hah, yeah she's a member of fz6-forum. Her username is 'Moopie'. The guys over there really helped her out with buying and modding her bike.

This is not like your old bike. How much seat time on the warrior?

pigs, she has not been online over there for quite some time. You should post a pic of her bike here because NO ONE has seen an FZ6 like hers... ;)

Be sure to post up changes to your beast! :D

Hey Scout, I traded the warrior in with almost 10k miles. I've also have about 3-4000 miles on an R6. The R6, while a lot of fun, got uncomfortable after about 40 miles.

Yeah I give her a hard time about never staying logged in on the forum. She still visits a lot.

We've done so much to that FZ6 but I've just not made the effort to get pictures. :embarrased: We need to get out for a ride soon with the camera!

Congratulations on the new bike and welcome to the forum, I hope you enjoy your bike. What year was your Warrior? I was just taking a look on the web, looks like a cruiser or an ATV, I am guessing the cruiser ;) The first thing I would put on the bike is frame sliders.

Thanks pigs!

See? I told you it was unique! It is the ONLY green one I've ever seen at all.

It's going to be great that you two will be sportbiking together now! That is one good looking pair!

It won't handle twists as clean as your R6. Unless you hang some weight, it'll fight the twists by wanting to stand up. Just proceed slowly and uncover it's personality.

Once dialed in, you'll love this bike.
