Anyone else had an awesome ride today?

I did get out for 220 miles on Sunday. Same old western Mass run which typically takes 6 hours. Beautiful sunshine but, it was a hard day to diagnose as far as temps, ended up cold in the morning and perfect in the afternoon.

Today's much nicer in the mid 70s may get in a short ride to CT later. Time to install the stock windshield, although I appreciated the taller screen yesterday.
Nice! Sounds like a good ride. Why are you installing the stock windshield? I run a taller one on mine as well. I've actually been contemplating putting a lower one on it, but I'm afraid I would miss the tall one.

I like more air when temps get to mid 70s on up. Under that I agree that the taller screen has advantages. Only six plastic screws to switch over. The biggest problem with extra screens is finding a place to store them when not in use.
This ^^^^^^ gotta have air in and around the helmets for them to do their do. For windscreen storage, I put mine in old pillow case and put on top shelf of helmet storage shelves with helmet visors.

Got in another 220 yesterday, beautiful temps and blue skies. Only problem with nature is the abundance of May flies whenever I stop. Not as bad as Maine but difficult to keep away from you. I can’t see thru my windscreen they’re caked on so thick.

Time to start looking for the next set of tires. I’ve got about 2500 left on the current T33s which I put on in the early fall. Lookin like Road 4s and T33 are about the same price this spring, circa $375. The price of joy I suppose. I like the feel of either brand but the PR 4 last a little longer

Sweet! Except for the May flies. LOL!

Is $375 for both front and rear? I just put Road 6's on to the tune of around $550. I like them so far, but haven't put many miles on yet to be honest.

Had a decent ride yesterday. Temps in the mid 60s decided to head to western Mass without checking weather forecast. 60 miles into the ride and I was staring at ominous clouds heading east. Took a quick look at radar on the phone and decided the hollows of Conn. looked dry so vectored south. Stayed dry and still got in 200 miles.

As much as I would like to head west, Today’s looking to be the same setup as far as weather. May try to sneak in a trip to the southern RI/CT beaches. Got to go with the flow in the spring. Happy to get in 700 miles in the last seven days with as much rain as we’ve had.
Wish I could still ride 200 miles a day

I got the Harley project out and about today for the first time, 30 miles on some local roads just to check her out before going anywhere too far. I can't say I'm 100% sold on the cruiser thing, it's a lot of fun but definitely couldn't have one as my only bike. I do ride like less of a hooligan though, compared to what my FZ1 begs me to do. Slow and steady.

I'm a fan of cheap decent tires. I ran the Conti Motions for a long time then recently threw a set of Kenda KM1s on. I am enjoying the KM1, time will tell how much mileage I get out of them but so far so good. I've tried Dunlop and Bridgestone sport tires before and I can definitely feel the improved grip but they wore out too quickly. These cheap sport touring tires are good enough for my riding. I may try one of the modern Michelin road tires next time just for comparison on my FZ. I only ever rode them on a MT-07.

I've been riding as much as I can lately. The temps have been great for a good little while now. But like you northern guys have to park em during the winter, I've got to park mine during the summer. June, July, August, midway through September just can't ride. 95+ degrees mixed with 75% humidity makes me want to move back to northern Arizona. 🏍️🏍️🏍️

I had some good riding days in the past week or two, but we've had some medical issues that kind of got in the way. I have surgery tomorrow morning that will likely keep me off the bike for at least 2 weeks... maybe a month or more. Hopefully that's all... Everybody keep posting up rides! I can't wait to join in again soon!

Good luck with your surgery! Hopefully, you will have a speedy and full recovery.

I have the Michelin Road 6s on my gen1 now. I Love them. Excellent grip in the dry and wet. I had the Road 4s before. Also super tires. The Road 6s have better turn in,but I would highly recommend either. They also both wear great!!

Hope yopu have a quick recovery.

Went in last week to have a spot taken off my ear using “Mohs" surgery. By the time they finished my poor little ,sweet little, ear lobe was gone, replaced by a hunk of my cheek. They did some masterful reconstruction. Still not a sweet as the original though.

Was out riding two days later and the wife asked “ Did they say it’s alright to be riding?” I told her It’s best not to ask questions when I think I won’t agree with the answer.
Pretty much all healed up now…….. till the next one.

You can get the T33s from Rocky Mountain ATV for about $311.00 plus tax right now with the $70.00 rebate, which I guess represents a good deal these days.

How many miles are you getting out of T33s, by the way?

First ride this year! Good ride to work on my '14 FZ09! The Yosh pipe is popping in mode A through rural Lake Co. IL. coming in at Noon. My Gen 1 '04 has been down for the Winter for a carb rebuild. Due to health issues it has been slow going but the carbs are almost ready to re-install and I have a clear weekend. Can't wait to get smooth in-line 4 back on the road. Cheers!

I'm hoping to get out for a ride this weekend, but it's a little cold (45 degrees now), so it probably won't be a real long ride.
Your cold is heading towards New England.

We’ve got another week of rain forecast with temps in the mid to low 50s.

On a good note yesterday cleared up around 3 pm, so got out to the hollows of N.E. Conn for a short ride, worked out to about 75 miles. That area of Pomfret, Woodstock and Union CT have roads that are always in great condition. Lots of old money and Yale Forrest land in the area makes it very scenic. I read that at one time 80% of CT was farm fields, but it mostly reverted back to forrest lands and open fields now. The other nice thing is the towns seem to rely on the State cops for road enforcement and they are few and far between.

I think like Maine, CT has better sub soil for maintaining roads than Mass. Glorious sunshine, temps, and humidity added to the joy.

May have to hold off putting stock windscreen back on for another week, I had taken the heated gear controller off but I can stick it back on in a few minutes.

My memory sucks…... i actually have T32s mounted, so no word on durability of T33. Looks like this set of T32s will get around 7500. I did note that there was just a hint of scalloping on the front at midlife, pressure was a little high around 38 cold, will try lowering to 36. I need to spend the $60 rebate from that set. $310 after rebate is about what I paid for T32s in Nov.

I like the feel of the PR4s…... I suspect I’d like the 6s even better.
