Dustin's New Bike Thread

I checked out the bike and it had a weak electrical system, putting out only 13v at 4000 RPM. I walked because I didn't want to buy into a hassle like that. It was also a bit more beat up than I expected.

The newer generation is supposedly better in a lot of ways, too. The yellow one (5th gen) has no VTEC and still has the super reliable gear driven cams which makes servicing cheaper and easier (no weak cam chain tensioners); the newer gen (2002+) has amazing headlights, improved charging system, way more mid range, longer fuel range, better fuel injection and generally supposed to be a better chassis.

The headlights really give me a chubby, though. Dual H4 plus dual H7 high beams. That's nuts!

Sounds like the dreaded regulator/rectifier on the way out [ they get too hot], a problem that VFR`s are know for
