FZ1 Oil residu in Airbox and on the Flies

Hi there,

Today i was taking my airbox apart to do the Lars Airbox mod, but i noticed some sticky oil residu in my airbox and on the flies.
Is this normal? Or did the dealer put to much oil in?

What is the oil level on your window with the bike standing straight up off the stands? Also, do you run an aftermarket air filter that is washed and oiled? I've seen this happen when those are installed with too much oil on the filter as well.

Orginal Filter was in, i'm about to put an K&N in.
I've attached the oil level.

Looks pretty normal to me. I've had similar on all my bikes :tup:

Hi decoen, abit of oil residue is normal and comes from the crankcase breather pipe into the air box. Ive been in there 3 times on my 07 Fazer to fit K&N, Ivans Flies and YEC AIS Plug Set. My intake area was no different in residue than your FZ1 looks but maybe your oil is alittle high.:tup:

Maybe just a little too much oil but it is RIGHT at the top of the HIGH mark. I've run mine with a bit too much more than what you have (no bubble in the window) and did not see that as a problem.

Isn't there a mod to add an external filter to the crankcase breather and block off the one at the back of the airbox? :tup:

Ok thx guys, now i know this isn't a problem i can do the LARS airboxmod and put an K&N in.
