heat wave

i drove (not rode) to my parents house yesterday and went swimming. for about 3 hours i forgot how hot it really was, it was awesome and we cooled off real good. but maybe this heat wave is on the way out... idk

It's odd weather, it's actually been cool in Texas the last couple of days, where as everyone up north is dying. We only hit 97, 98 or so. After weeks of 102/104 it feels nice. It's been overcast in the mornings too which makes a big difference too.

I went for a ride at 6AM this morning, it was about 60F when I left. I even decided to wear a long sleeve shirt under my jacket. I rode for an hour and a half and it was starting to warm up by the time I got home. One benefit of living at elevation is that the mornings are usually cool. It is supposed to be 90F today but at least humidity is very low.

I really don't understand the ''cold team''.. My limit is 10*C(50F)..leather suit, under thermic suit, wool socks, boots, and winter gloves.. For 10km/h your body feel 1C less so at 100km/h you just feel 0C. After few km/h the fingers are sleeping:-( and the road conditions are so bad that you can't turn safetly..low exercise temp. And if you find a curve on shadow dirt and with humidity? To dangerous! Is it ride? On heat wave,I'm agree,is not the optimal situation but tires work well and came on guys, under sun is another thing! My suite stay at home! Cotton socks, boots, jeans with knees protections,T-shirt,and cross derivate jacket:back, front, deltoit and arms protections on a very light and super perspirant tissue. Summer gloves.. On 40C(104)and 70%humidity,when you stop is an hell..but riding is ok and very funny.. No compare with dirty humid and very cold winter day..

Loving it. I'll take it after such a LONG winter with far too much snow and a crappy spring with too much cold and rain... It only hit 99 here (too close to the coast) so I was disappointed.

With mesh gear, as long as you're moving, it isn't all that bad. The gear keeps the sun off your skin and when you move, the wind blows through the mesh and evaporates the sweat so it is cooling you.

I'm just FINE with it but only because I know it will not last. I don't know how people live with this for months at a time!

well I brushed by the bike this morning in the garage and that was about it washed the truck early AM and worked on her for about 2 hours then retreat inside.Carlisle bike show is this weekend but I never go to it anyhow so no loss there

I'm fixin ta go ahead and ride in to work the next three days...it's still fun, even though it's hot!

I have also found that after going to the Gap I am really bored riding around here.Kinda like when I rode watercraft after riding in the ocean I had no desire to ride in the lakes and rivers.
